Melania & Damaso
I know it’s a hackneyed phrase, and I’ve said it so many times, but seriously, I love my job; I love being a wedding planner and helping people live moments of great happiness, it’s really satisfying. My team and I are so lucky to be part of one of the most amazing moments in a couple’s life – their wedding.
Today I’m sharing with you Melania and Damaso’s wedding. Everything about this couple is special – their names, professions, their philosophy of life, and much more you’ll find out throughout this post. Melania was a sweet girl who became a talented woman, very friendly and caring; with her easy-going manner, she made the wedding planning an easy and exciting process. Maybe it was fate – that they chose us to plan their wedding -, because as the bride said ‘No one could do the planning of our wedding better than Pasión Eventos.’
Couples hire a wedding planner for a number of reasons, as they need professional advice and guidance. In their case, they decided to hire our wedding planning services because they wanted a personal wedding, they wanted to be sure everything would turn out perfectly and, also, to be able to enjoy their wedding – both the preparation process and the W-Day – free from stress. Our main goal is to create unforgettable moments and that’s what we did for them: we ensured their big day was an expression of their passion and dreams, with a magical atmosphere; a wedding where LOVE and HAPPINESS reigned. After our first conversations, we understood what they wanted: a personal, relaxed wedding, made with love and care, in a magical place, with lots of light and music, and surrounded by nature. And that’s what they got: a wedding in the heart of the wood and close to the sea!
A fairy-tale wedding where all that was missing were the wood dwarfs. There they tied the knot, but before that, they shared the most beautiful vows. Their words were so powerful and heartfelt, they touched everyone’s hearts. A countryside wedding with an English and Provençal feel, full of romantic, touching and fun moments. The wedding colour themes were lilac, mauve, red, burgundy, green, ochre, Prussian blue and yellow mango; and the flowers: lavender, seasonal wild flowers, salvia, rosemary and greenery. For the ceremony, we decided to put hay bales decorated with lace curtains and seat cushions in the wedding colours; we also placed Provençal-inspired baskets full of flowers, demijohn jars and large candle vases by the altar. We laid a delicate sisal carpet and placed chimney baskets packed with floral decorations, alternating with demijohn jars, along the aisle. Yet the most outstanding feature was the stunning dreamcatchers hanging from the trees, made by Melania’s mother for the occasion; it really added to the magical, fairy-tale atmosphere. The bouquet consisted of pink astilbe, eucalyptus, pink clusias, white anemones, peach colour garden roses, pink freesias and white wallflower. The inside of the marquee was bursting with colour. The wedding tables were dressed with vases in different sizes and colours (all full of flowers), aquamarine and green print charger plates, and stemmed cups and glasses in a range of 8 different colours; we opted for imperial tables, stone grey table linens and bamboo chairs.
They enjoyed live music during the ceremony, played by a great piano player who is a friend of theirs. At the wedding reception, they enjoyed home-made style food prepared by an excellent and genuine caterer, a serve-yourself style meal, like in a Sunday family meal. A long wedding – that ended at dawn – where everyone enjoyed amazing dances performed by some couples, entertaining speeches, and shared lots of laughs and mojitos.
She, an incorrigible romantic and graceful ballerina, wanted a romantic wedding; he, a brave fireman and surf lover wanted a fun, genuine wedding; together we created the most beautiful wedding ever; a wedding as authentic as they are, full of colour and love – love for each other, love for their children and love for their families and friends.
We’re so lucky to be able to do what we love most and to be part of one of the most special days in a couple’s life, and to live unique moments with them. These photographs, by Abraham García, show the best moments of their wedding. Enjoy them!
