Alex & Paula
As wedding planners, when couples come to us in order to organize their wedding, we love being able to be part of their story, getting to know them well and sharing with them every stage of their magic day. As the best part of beautiful stories is sharing them, today we want to tell you about Alex and Paula.
This delightful couple met in London, where they were both working. Since the moment their ways crossed, they always found an excuse to meet up in a bar nearby their work. Paula is Spanish and Alex Polish and they fell in love dancing salsa in a bar in London (although they both like electronic-indie music!) They have shared many special moments, from music festivals here and there to going away on holiday together and embarking the adventure of having little Chufi, their beautiful Persian cat. However, one of the most magical moments was when Alex asked Paula to marry her.
Paula: “They most special moment we have shared, and the one that has lead us to where we are now, was when Alex gave me the engagement ring during our last holidays in Seville. She had been planning it, designing it and thinking about it for a long time, and I had no idea! We got to an ideal restaurant and before the desserts were served, she changed the spoon for a silver one with an inscription on it that read: “Will you marry me?” and then she gave me the ring. I dind’t think twice”.
They both love fashion, photography, spending time with their friends, Majorca, Berlin, the beach, improvised parties and music festivals (especially Sonar). They chose Majorca to get married because they love the island, its beaches and Spanish food, according to them the best in the world due to its simplicity, tradition and flavour.
They wanted to celebrate a party with their loved ones to commemorate the LOVE (in capital letters) they feel for each other. They didn’t want a typical wedding, but one according to their personalities and tastes. So our task as wedding planners was to work on all these concepts to create a wedding that exceeded their expectations by far. We love diving deep into the stories of our couples, working close with them with trust and honesty in order to create something that is as singular and special as each couple.
In this case, the result was a romantic, simple and casual wedding, in a vintage-rustic style and with a bucolic atmosphere. The venue of choice was an estate surrounded by nature in the middle of the Majorcan countryside, which was the perfect setting to celebrate their love story. The place was in perfect harmony with the Mediterranean inspired decoration. We used materials such as sackcloth, raffia, straw bales and wood, all of which spattered with a palette of pastel colours such as white, pink and green. The queen of flowers was the peony, accompanied by paniculata, olive tree and thousands of smiles. For the bouquets, we used some of these same flowers in a combination of peonies, paniculata and oats.
The ceremony took place in a marvellous holm oak forest, under a huge tree decorated with white pieces of fabric, creating the romantic and bucolic atmosphere we wanted. For dinner, imperial tables and white lamps were set up, which in combination with the peonies created a very romantic and sweet atmosphere.
